Awakening
Please Download PDF Awakening by C. E. Alberie There's a girl in his bed. She's beautiful, the kind of girl he'd always dreamed he'd spend a night with. She probably won't be able to remember how she got there, but he remembers and he hates himself for it. Tom wakes up to Ella, asleep in his bed. His memory is fuzzy, but after a hit of morning nicotine it all starts to come back to him with unnerving clarity. As he makes his way through the house the memories return. How he liked her, but she wasn't so keen. How they racked up lines of K and coke and how she passed out. How he fucked her without her being awake enough to agree. Riddled with guilt Tom chases after Ella, he follows her. Not knowing what to say, if he should apologise, what he should do. When she turns to look at him no words come out. And when she walks away he is left alone to face what he did to her. Awakening is the story of the morning after the night before. A night that can't be undone. Awakening is a film that plays with how...

Claire Elizabeth Alberie Writer/ Director 07885 240 000 · calberie@gmail.com PROFILE My background is mostly in short form drama. My short films have been screened throughout Europe, including in competition at the BFI. I am a BAFTA Cymru nominee for 'Three Days' made in 2013 for BBC 2 Wales, a Royal Television Society South West Nominee for 'Test' made in 2010 and I have been supported by the BFI, Creative England, Cyfle, Skillset and The Welsh Broadcasting Trust as emerging talent. For the past few years I have been working as a script supervisor in conjunction with making short films. Through script supervising I have experience in working across a range of different screen formats from multi-camera children's television to Disney feature films. I am highly diplomatic and am experienced in dealing with people across a wide range of backgrounds, from young children to executive producers for some of the biggest production companies in the world. I make a point of ensuring that I maintain a good relationship with a number of crew members in the industry and am able to act as a producer in terms of crewing up and scheduling. I have some AD experience as well...
PLEASE READ IN ADDITION TO PDF BUDGET Awakening: Production/Budget Notes In the budget (please download as PDF from the 'Awakening - Budget' section) you will see notes made alongside the numbers. This document is intended to elaborate on these notes. IO stands for 'Informal Offer'. I currently work freelance as a script supervisor in film and television. Through this work I have made a number of very good friends who are incredibly talented professionals in the industry. On the budget sheet there are names of people who have already stated that they would like to work with me on a project. Of course, there will be limitations to this in terms of their availability but I am confident that between us Sica and I have enough friends in the industry who would be happy to help us for a two day shoot. Especially a shoot supported by an organisation such as IdeasTap. The script is not complicated in terms of locations. This allows us to condense the shooting time to two days. I believe that two days is an adequate amount of time to shoot the script as well as a reasonable amount of time to ask for favours...
Distribution Strategy: Awakening Both my producer (Sica Denerley-Weiss) and I are alumnus of the BFI/Creative England 'Filmworks' scheme. A scheme that was set up to develop emerging talent in the British regions with a particular emphasis on promotion and distribution. The initial focus of the distribution strategy will be creating a strong media package in order to send to BAFTA and regional BAFTA (Cymru & Scotland) qualifying festivals. This will include stills, synopsis' in different languages and a DCP file (a friend of ours who is a post production professional has already offered to assist anyone who is part of the Filmworks scheme for free in the creation of DCP files). In addition to this we will hold a cast, crew and friends screening of the film and invite professionals who have acted as our mentors in the industry to come and give us feedback and guidance. These would include Mark Cosgrove who was our key mentor on the FilmWorks scheme and is the current curator at the Watershed Cinema in Bristol as well as Rich Warren, Festival Producer at Encounters Short Film Festival (who also participated in the Filmworks scheme and additionally acted as a mentor during the...
Awakening Proposed Collaborator Sica Denerley-Weiss: Producer Sica has produced over a dozen short films (including four of mine) as well as two feature films. She has a reputation in the South West for achieving exceptionally high quality results with very limited funds and is one of the most resourceful and determined people I have ever met. She started working in film at the age of 16 and among her achievements is producing 'One' an anthology feature film that brought together dozens of filmmakers from across Bristol and the South West to tell a story about the city and communities they love – and she did it with no budget at all!
